Dolicious Dolomites
Let’s face it, Italy has a knack for making things look beautiful. True, their politics are absurdly colourful. And yes, the mafia thing is kind of dark. But when it comes to design and the visual shape of things, they really sparkle. It was Italy who took the simple form of the car and styled it into the Ferrari. Where others saw clothes to wear, they saw Armani to drape. Nowhere does this aesthetic aptitude shine brighter than in the Dolomites, the obscenely scenic mountain region a few hours drive from Venice (not too shabby itself). For this staggering physical feat they took perfectly pretty alps and made them just that extra little bit more magnificent.
Our Italy trip planner, Rudston Steward, is headed to the Dolomites in mid-March for a refresher research trip. He’ll tuck into a few Michelin stars, try some new activities, and rest his bleary head at some wonderful new lodges. You can expect to see and hear all about it in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, let this amazing video we found take you for a daydream. Here’s looking at you, Italy.
Charlie daydreams about the Dolomites daily. Give him a ring if you’re thinking of heading that way.
