Rwanda: A Photo Essay

Rwanda remains as impactful a place as ever. The contrast between the country’s dark history and the prosperity evident today is nothing short of remarkable, and whatever your opinions on the country’s politics, there’s no denying that Rwanda is fantastic success story. Most of our travellers come just for a few days to visit the mountain gorillas (and that’s a great reason to visit) but it’s definitely worth a longer look. On my last trip, I was able to see more of the country, travelling from the capital Kigali out to Akagera National Park in the east, to the Volcanoes National Park in the north west – I’ve shared some of the photos from my trip here in this post.
