Globe Trotters
We’ve been out on the road this year…. a lot. At half-time on 2019, our trotters are worn smooth, and it’s time to take stock. The pictures above flooded my inbox when I naively wrote to our planning team to ask for a few shots from recent research trips. I was struck by the awesome variety of location, experience, climate, viewpoint that came back.
We take our research pretty seriously at Trufflepig, frankly because we hate not knowing what we’re talking about. If ever the company was bought, the new owners would no doubt slash the research budget in half, and it would still be generous. But it wouldn’t allow us to do what it says on the door: to follow our noses. Instead, we’d be doing what most other planning companies do, which is to take trips hosted by other tour operators, and to see what we’re told to see, meet whom we’re told to meet, and think what we’re told to think. At Trufflepig, we aren’t great at following in other people’s footsteps, and prefer to sniff out our own path through the woods. I guess obedience is not a forte.
So far this year, the indomitable planning team have been snuffling around in Patagonia, Paris, Peru and Portugal, Croatia, Cambodia, Como, Colombia, The Republic of Congo, Bolivia, Burgundy, Brecon and the Basque Country, Slovenia, Savoie, Spain and Sarajevo, Morocco… Wait. Why am I trying to make this aliterate? You get the picture. We’ve been on the trot. A lot. The list is long.
So enjoy the photos, check out our updated Where We Go, and let us know where you want to talk about.
